We are a department of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague, which focuses on teaching psychology and bioethics to students across years and disciplines. Our goal is to equip future doctors and health professionals with knowledge and skills that will help them better understand the human psyche, ethical dilemmas in medicine, and communicate with patients and their families with respect and empathy.
We provide:
- Teaching psychology in undergraduate and graduate programs. We focus on general psychology, personality psychology, social psychology, medical psychology and psychotherapy.
- Teaching of bioethics in undergraduate and postgraduate studies. We introduce students to the principles of bioethics, the ethical aspects of medical practice and the resolution of ethical dilemmas in medicine.
- Research activities in the field of psychology and bioethics. Our faculty members are actively engaged in research and publish in prestigious journals.
- Counselling for students and teachers of the 1st Faculty of Medicine. We provide psychological counselling in individual consultations.
